Do You Know The Secret of Achieving All You Want Daily?

February 1, 2008 by Chrisvidal

Being able to achieve a lot of your plans everyday contributes in no small measure towards achieving your overall goals. Your ability to set clear, specific activities that are aimed at achieving your overall goals for the month or year will do more to guarantee you higher levels of success and achievement than any single skill or quality you may possess. The problem lies in the fact that not many people are able to achieve a quarter of what the set out to achieve at the end of the day. Is there a secret to achieving all your plans every day? Absolutely yes! What is the secret?

It is as simple as just writing out all your activities for the day. Yes, just write out all the things you need to do and all the places you need to go. Start with the one on your way to work and end with the ones on your way back from work. Do you know what? This also helps conserve your fuel.

Lets take an example. I live in Karu and I have to go to work at Wuse Zone 1. Lets say this are the places I have to visit tomorrow:

  1. Go my daughters’ boarding school at Apo
  2. Go to a Bookshop at Garki
  3. Go to my office at Wuse Zone 1
  4. Go to the Supermarket at Wuse Zone 6
  5. Back home

From my list, the first port of call is the school at Apo which I can take on my way to my office. From there I go to Garki which is also towards my office, then my office and finally to Zone 6 which is on my way home to office from work. This way I conserve my fuel and at the same time ensure I do all the things on my list since I have them actually written down.

While writing the list ensure you break down each item on the list into subdivisions. This you do by writing exactly what you are going to do at each place. Thus, your To –Do-List would finally look like this:

  1. Go to my daughters’ boarding school at Apo to give Shammah the blanket and maths set she forgot at home
  2. Go to a ABC Bookshop at Garki to purchase The Richest Man in Babylon, Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Brian Tracy’s book on Laws of Business Success
  3. Go to my office at Wuse Zone 1
  • Ask the Secretary for a mail I am expecting from Ghana
  • Find out how many fastecash pincodes she has left, so I can pay in money to the bank the following day to purchase more.
  • Leave a message with her for Mr Jeji, one of my SENetworkers.
  • Check her records for pincodes bought and SENetworkers register.
  • Connect to the Web and check my mails and make all the necessary replies.

4. Go to Wuse Market at Zone 6 and purchase the following:

  • 2 bottles of Cashewnuts
  • 1 Dozen Dettol Soap
  • 1 Carton of Milk
  • 2 face towels5. Back home

I tell you, when you do this you come back home feeling good with yourself because you did everything that was scheduled to do except on the days where some unforeseen things come up to disrupt your plan. On such a day you can always reschedule your activities or carry over some to the next day.

Okay now you have learnt one secret why don’t you go and TAKE ACTION on it.

TAKE ACTION now and see how you would succeed.

Deeply committed to your success,

Start The Year Right

January 24, 2008 by Chrisvidal

At the start of this New Year, reflect on what you have accomplished so far in your life and be thankful, but don’t be satisfied with that. Determine to reach for even greater things, and you will achieve them.

What have you accomplished so far in your life? Why don’t you take a pen and paper and write them down? You would realise that if you have never set goals in your life you might find it difficult to even notice if you have accomplished anything. Living a life without direction and planning would take you nowhere. The best thing might be to write down what you want to accomplish in life. This would then help you to check on yourself each year how far you have gone, what is left to be accomplished and if possible set more goals to achieve.

If you happen to know what you have accomplished then write them and you should thank the Almighty for his mercies. Without health and life you would not have accomplished these things. Without His wisdom and guidance you definitely would not have done anything. Count your blessings; name them one by one and it would surely surprise you what the Good Lord has done for you.

Above this, don’t let your accomplishment get to your head. That is not the ultimate that you can achieve. So let determination drive you this year to greater things. Take a second look at your accomplishments so far and ask yourself the following questions: Have you done anything for your community among your accomplishments? How about the poor and needy? How about other less privileged members of your family? Did you get the best out of your business? How many people have you being able to add value to their lives? How many negative characteristics have you being able to change in your own life? Did you give your best to your family? Have you utilize all your skills and talents to impact your live and that of members of your community?

Make up your mind this year to look into some of these areas and achieve greater things. Write down the areas you would want to concentrate on this year and how you want to go about achieving them then set about doing just that. Remember without taking action on anything nothing ever happens.
